CLEO Career Academy

Hi friends,

I went for the CLEO Career Academy on 29 August with Joelle! It was held at Mandarin Orchard Hotel which was located above the Mandarin Gallery at somerset. There were 2 panels but both panels talked about different things.

The first panel had CLEO editor Alicia Tan, Clinique Senior Marketing Manager Cindra Tsai, Foodpanda Head of Marketing, Senior Production Manager of Walt Disney Company SEA Tan Lay Tuan. Theirs was the more serious talk like advice on how to work your way up and deal with company challenges.

The second panel had Pole Vaulter Rachel Isabel Yang, The Sam Willows' Sandra Riley Tang, Social Influencer Andrea Chong, S2S Artiste Entrepreneur Tay Ke Wei, thinkBIG Communications Founder-Director Belinda Ang. Theirs was about alternative career choices which I found super interesting. Also maybe because this group was younger so it was a lot more cheerful and down-to-earth especially with Sandra and Andrea.

The pastry and refreshments were really nice. The goodie bag was really nice too. It contained the latest CLEO magazine with Vanessa Hudgens on it, a CLEO notebook, some flyers and a set of Clinique cosmetics!!! But of course the miniature size. Was really happy with it because I can stock up for graduation trips soon. All these was definitely worth my $10. It was actually $15 per person and $20 for 2. So it was definitely more worth to bring along a friend hahaha.

Managed to take pictures with Sandra and Andrea yay!!! It felt really good seeing them live because I am always so used to seeing them in videos and on Instagram. I was super awkward but hahaha it's worth it.

Last Day of School!!!!

HELLO,

So excited to post this up because it's essentially the last day of school... I felt a bit bitter because Media Law Exam was quite tough. I just hope I didn't do too bad... I really pray and hope.

Anyway, went around school to snap some final shots with my girls #nomoreexams. Well we are actually a group of girls who were once in the same group for assignments and study buddies. Fun and retarded bunch to be around with!

Here are some of our final school shots by Calvin and some of my OOTD shots by Joelle too!

Some parkour shit going on

I can be the set square to your compass *wink*

Loving this album shot of us. Marks the end of our poly study lives. Thank you Calvin for snapping this for us.

BYE STUDY LIFE... OFF TO INTERN! Oh yes, I managed to get an internship position at SPH The New Paper. Thank god. I am just really grateful that they accepted me and I didn't have to intern in school because I really didn't want that. Also, SPH is really the best place any Singaporeans journalist can work at. Super grateful. Can't wait to work there in the future as a Journalist.

Kodaline Concert!

Hello people,

Yet another concert post. I have to admit I am not a super hardcore fan of Kodaline but rather a more chill fan because I feel like their music really gives me the feels to just stay at home, stare into blank space and just feel sad.

My favourites are Honest, All Comes Down, High Hopes, One Day and of course All I Want... Hahaha the more cliché ones unfortunately.

When everyone sang All I Want together, the atmosphere was so perfect and emo. I could really feel the crowd connecting with the band, everyone connecting their stories and feeling every bit of the song. It was really beautiful. They were so good live.

Went with Vanessa, Rachel and Rachel's friend. Met Chun Enn, Mark and Clarissa there too hahaha. Oops, forgot to mention Sheppard went up first. It was ok to me hahaha.

Sheppard up first

Pretty phone lights

Shag as hell after the concert
More friends!!! Chun Enn missing though

Twenty One Pilots Singapore Tour!

Hey guys,

YAY went to catch twenty one pilots' concert on 16 July with Jun Keat. It was pretty damn good live. No regrets man. Thank god for Ryan Wein and friends for queuing early man... Because Jun Keat and I were late as he was not feeling well that day.

I was so happy when they played Guns for Hands, Holding on to You and of course, Car Radio. Oh gurl these three are my favourite songs from them. They were the three that got me hooked onto Twenty one pilots when I was in secondary school.

Had a great night, took some really shaky videos and like 1 or 2 decent photos because it was so dark. Hope more people will go for their concert because they are really good live, really nice cute guys too.

Twitter HQ Visit!

Hey guys,

So I am in this module called Social Media Strategies and my lecturer, planned a visit to the Twitter HQ on 14 August and we were pretty stoked.

There's nothing much to talk about other than how chill the office looks? It's really new so it looks chic as hell. But it isn't very big as well.

There was this room that we gathered at, it had like 5 huge screens that basically gives you a lot of info as to which region is trending what and cool stuff. But I didn't dare to take pictures there hahaha. Anyway, the pantry is pretty. SO MUCH FOOD. Love it. There were pastries, drinks (even alcoholic ones), pizza, mama shop snacks. I took a couple packets of food home hehehe.

And oh dear... This was the day I realised my precious Samsung NX Mini died... or rather the lens died. It couldn't capture anything :'(. Luckily for iPhone 6 so it wasn't that bad for me. Just need to get another lens I guess :( .

Pigley (Ashley). Love the lighting here

SG50 Day Outs | National Day Previews + Science Centre

Hey guys,

Kinda late but decided to post up pictures of my SG50 rave. I went for the National Day preview twice at The Float @ Marina Bay. Mainly because my uncle gave me those tickets because no one else wanted to go. And no harm collecting more goodie bags right. Plus I really want to buy the discounted Durian mooncakes from Four Leaves. I absolutely love them.

Anyway, pretty sure most of ya'll have already watched the National Day Parade since it was SG50. I would say I really enjoyed it as compared to the previous years. The fireworks spam though... it's pretty but I hope they don't spam every year. Nah, I don't think they will... probably only for SG50. I liked the EDM part where it was a primary school segment. It accurately represents the younger generation. Also, the singers. Definitely love the songs performed this year. No cheesy "bad romance goodie bag" songs or anything. Overall, good show even though I watched it from the screen. (only fireworks and canon balls from The Float!)

First Saturday with Joelle

Second Saturday with Jun Keat

We went to Science Centre during the Jubilee Weekend so entry was FREEEE. Hahaha I am very much Singaporean when it comes to this. We wanted to go into the Human Body Experience but unfortunately it was too late because queueing time was like more than 2 hours. So we decided to go into another exhibition which honestly I can't even remember what it was called. But it was pretty cool too. There were more things but I didn't photograph them because it was kinda dark and kinda weird.

At Science Centre... hahaha my version of a Hamsa Hand
In some visualiser room

Here's a mysterious video for you. Apparently the quality is very bad if you upload it on blogger but oh well. Blurry more mysterious hahaha.

Tennis Court

Hello people,

Made a new discovery at Ngee Ann Poly's blk 22 where a beautiful tennis court was built. It really reminded me of those Japanese animes... Prince of Tennis hahahaha. Really love the new tennis court because it's super clean and super OOTD worthy. I'll let the photos to the talking. Thank you Hannah for snapping these shots for me!

Absolutely love this shot. <3 Hannah
